is getting closer!! Its not so much as a deadline but i should really have it done by the end of February for comfort. THE HEAT IS ON!
So far i have 4 oil paintings and 6+ digital ones for submission. I have 2 and a half sketch books and a few life drawings, i think i should spend this month doing BIG life sketches after life sketches after life sketches. . not sure though, there is no were to do life sketching in sligo. . with a nude model anyway, any thoughts?? please!
Hello, Life drawing is really really really important so you should deffinately do more. If there is no where to do life classes then thats ok, just go out to a park or a cafe, watch people doing every day normal things, cycling walking the dog etc. Just keep drawing them. OBSERVE!!
Also always carry a sketchbook with you or post its or anything! Also dont forget about storyboarding. They are a requirement for the IADT course. They want to see that you can tell stories and have an overall interest in animation. Good Luck
The storyboards are one of the main requirements so it is worth spending sometime on them. I would'nt neglect them. They dont need to be amazing, dont forget that if you like you can adapt part of a book or a poem and create your storyboards from these as long as you make it clear where it came from in your portfolio. Presentation is also important try to keep everything neat and tidy and dont put loads in, about 15 pieces should do the trick, then the storyboards and your notebooks. The tutors looking at your portfolio will probably see about 200 other ones in the same day they look at yours so if you present it well and keep it tidy then it'll make things alot easier for them and you'll stand out from the crowd
oh cool thanks, how big should these be? so far all my stuff is fairly small, A4 sized stuff etc. should i do big story boards? and as for the portfolio presentation, how exactly should i contain my sheets of drawings in an easy access/neat sort of way, thanks so much for all this advice btw!
